Cowboys Struggle in Philly, Fall 17-3 to Eagles

The Dallas Cowboys’ season continues to dwindle as they suffered a crushing 17-3 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field. Quarterback Cooper Rush struggled, throwing two interceptions in the first half and marking his lowest yardage, passer rating, and accuracy percentage since facing the Eagles in Week 10.

Rush attributed the team’s poor performance to turnovers, saying “two or three plays here and there” can flip a game. The Cowboys’ offense failed to capitalize on opportunities, while the Eagles capitalized on their opponents’ mistakes, scoring 17 of their 24 points from turnovers by the Cowboys.

The loss was devastating for head coach Mike McCarthy, who called it an “excellent opportunity that we prepared for but being minus-three at halftime was a real kick in the ass.” The team’s turnover margin was also dismal, with Eagles cornerback Cooper DeJean recovering a fumble deep in plus territory, further exacerbating the issue.

Rush now falls to 0-3 as a starter against Philadelphia, and his struggles in the stadium seem to be a recurring theme. He jokingly attributed it to his dislike of the color green, but it’s clear that Lincoln Financial Field holds a special place in the Cowboys’ quarterback’s psyche – one that he’s struggling to overcome.

The loss marks another disappointment for the team, who continue to search for a winning formula against the Eagles.
