Five Suspects Charged in Connection with Liam Payne’s Death

Liam Payne, the 31-year-old singer from One Direction, died on October 16 after falling from a third-floor balcony at a hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Authorities have charged five suspects, including the hotel manager, receptionist, and two staff members, for manslaughter.

Prosecutor Laura Bruniard has already ordered the trial phase to proceed, citing evidence of drug supply and neglect of duty. The charges include supplying cocaine to Payne on multiple occasions and failing to ensure his safety at the hotel.

Payne’s friend Roger Nores claims they were “very good friends” and spent time together before the incident. However, police found substances in Payne’s hotel room and damaged objects after the singer died.

The trial is ongoing, with the possibility of sentencing ranging from one to five years for manslaughter charges. The supply of drugs charge carries a more severe sentence, between four to 15 years in prison. Judge Bruniard has ordered two staff members accused of supplying drugs to remain in custody until further notice.
