US forces conducted precision strikes against Iranian-backed Houthi targets in Yemen on December 30 and 31, targeting command centers, missile production facilities, and radar sites. The strikes were carried out by US Navy ships and aircraft, which destroyed a facility used for attacks on US warships and vessels in the Red Sea.
The facilities targeted included missile storage areas and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) used by Houthi forces to threaten regional partners and merchant vessels. Despite the strikes, there were no injuries or damage to US personnel or equipment involved.
The operation is part of US Central Command’s efforts to counter Iranian-backed Houthi activities in the region and protect naval operations.
