Universal Pictures Home Entertainment has announced that its 2024 blockbuster hit Wicked is coming to digital streaming platforms just in time for New Year’s Eve. Starting at midnight ET on December 31, viewers can stream the movie from home through various platforms, including Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, Fandango at Home, and more.
When purchasing Wicked from participating streaming services, fans will gain access to bonus content, including deleted and extended scenes, a singalong version of the film, and “A 40-minute journey through Oz” celebrating the movie’s transformative magic. The cost to purchase the movie is $29.99 for each streaming service.
The bonus features include:
* A feature-length singalong version of the film
* Director commentary from Jon M. Chu and stars Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande
* Behind-the-scenes featurettes, including:
+ “Making Wicked,” showcasing character development, choreography, and production design
+ “Welcome to Shiz,” focusing on fashion pieces and elaborate sets at the Shiz Academy
+ “A Wicked Legacy,” featuring cast members reflecting on their connections to the original Broadway production
+ “The Wonderful Wizard,” exploring the mechanics of the Wizard’s robotic head
Wicked will also debut on 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD starting February 4, 2025.
