OnePlus is set to give its mid-range smartphone, the OnePlus 13R, a significant camera upgrade. According to leaked rumors, the device will feature a 50MP Sony LYT-700 main camera lens, an 8MP ultrawide camera, and a 50MP Samsung JN5 telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom.
The 50MP JN5 sensor may not be as powerful as traditional telephoto lenses but has become common in mobile devices due to its versatility. The sensor is capable of being used across multiple camera types, including wide-angle, ultra-wide-angle, front, and telephoto cameras, promising a consistent camera experience from various angles.
In contrast to the 2MP macro lens seen on the OnePlus 12R, the new JN5 sensor is expected to replace it, providing improved camera performance for users. The selfie camera will remain unchanged at 16MP.
The OnePlus 13R’s camera specs have been shared by leaker Yogesh Brar, who also revealed that the device will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and feature a thin form factor with a 6,000mAh battery capacity.
