Walmart Recalls Marketside Broccoli Due to Possible Listeria Contamination

Walmart has issued a voluntary recall of Marketside Broccoli Florets sold in 20 states due to possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes, according to the FDA. The affected product was distributed to Walmart locations across the US and has a best-by-date of December 10.

Consumers who have purchased the product should discard it immediately, as no illnesses have been reported yet. However, some customers may still have the product in their freezers. To contact Braga Fresh, the company behind the product, consumers can call 877-456-7445 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Pacific Time Monday through Friday or email [email protected].

The FDA warns that Listeria can cause “serious and sometimes fatal infections” in vulnerable populations, such as the elderly, young children, and those with weakened immune systems. Consumers who have concerns about their purchases can reach out to Braga Fresh for guidance.
