Union Health Imposes Visitor Restrictions Due to Rising Respiratory Viruses

Union Health has announced plans to implement temporary visitor restrictions at its hospitals in Terre Haute and Clinton due to an increase in respiratory viruses such as influenza, COVID-19, and RSV.

The restrictions will begin on January 2, 2025, and include the following rules:

* Visiting hours are limited to 6 a.m. – 8 p.m.
* Only visitors aged 18 or older will be allowed
* The number of visitors per area is capped, with specific numbers shown in an accompanying image
* All visitors and employees must undergo self-screening for symptoms such as fever, cough, and shortness of breath

Individuals experiencing respiratory symptoms should not enter Union Health facilities unless they are seeking medical treatment. Patients with respiratory illness will be required to wear a mask upon presentation.

Visitors are encouraged to wear masks, practice good hygiene, and maintain social distancing. Designated visitors are preferred to protect patients and staff from high-risk viruses.
