Virgin Australia Crew Members Allegedly Raped and Robbed in Fiji

Police in Fiji are investigating incidents involving two crew members of Australian airline Virgin Australia. The crew members were on a layover in Nadi, a popular tourist destination, when they allegedly became victims of rape and theft. According to the Fiji government, the crew members had gone to a nightclub and later attempted to find their way back to their hotel. Unfortunately, they were targeted by thieves who committed alleged sexual assault and theft. The investigation is ongoing, with a suspect known to the police for the alleged crime being questioned.

The incidents have sparked regret from Fiji’s Deputy Prime Minister, Viliame Gavoka, who expressed his condolences to the victims. Virgin Australia has sent staff to provide support but declined to comment further on the matter. The airline operates flights between Australia and Fiji, with many Australian tourists visiting the island nation each year.
