The Publix store in Parrish, Florida, where the ticket was purchased, has a history of selling winning lottery tickets. The store is located on the West Coast of Florida and matches up with recent secondary wins.
Florida winners have 180 days to claim their prizes, which can be claimed within 60 days for a single-payment cash option. However, claiming a prize does not guarantee anonymity for the winner.
The next Mega Millions drawing will take place at 11 p.m. EST on January 3, and the overall jackpot is expected to roll over.
