Is the Apple Vision Pro Done for 2024?

Apple’s latest flagship product, the Vision Pro, was highly anticipated but ultimately left some buyers underwhelmed due to limitations such as its steep starting price of $3,499 and limited availability.

Despite initial excitement, users found the device’s constraints, including its reliance on Apple accounts, a major drawback. The lack of an integrated AI computing experience, known as Apple Intelligence, also detracted from the overall appeal.

As 2024 draws to a close, it appears that production of new Vision Pro units may be coming to an end, with Apple reportedly having reduced production in October and potentially stopping manufacturing by year-end. However, the company has stated it is willing to restart production if sales increase.

A cheaper version of the Vision Pro is also in development, which could help boost demand. The second-generation model, expected to launch around spring 2026, may use existing parts inventory and share production lines with other devices. For the Vision Pro to gain traction, Apple must address its pricing and value proposition for end users.
