The turning point of the game came in the second and third quarters, when Notre Dame scored 17 points over a 54-second stretch, giving them a 20-3 lead. A defensive play by Junior Tuihalamaka recovered a fumble by Georgia QB Gunner Stockton, and Riley Leonard followed up with a 13-yard touchdown pass to Beaux Collins.
Georgia had opportunities to score but were plagued by drops and turnovers. Notre Dame’s quarterback, Riley Leonard, was the most impactful player, rushing for 80 yards on 14 attempts while passing for 90 yards and a score.
The victory marks the first win in four attempts against Georgia for Notre Dame. The team’s 12-game winning streak remains intact as they prepare to face Penn State in the Orange Bowl semifinals.
