The Longhorns allowed 500 yards for the first time since last year’s College Football Playoff loss to Washington, with quarterback Quinn Ewers accounting for 322 yards and three touchdowns. However, his performance was marked by inconsistency, as he completed just seven of his next 14 attempts after a strong start.
Ewers finished with his third 300-yard game of the season, including a masterful strike to Matthew Golden in overtime that sealed the win. Golden had a big game, catching seven passes for 149 yards and a touchdown, bringing him close to reaching 1,000 receiving yards for the year.
