Current Scorpions drummer Mikkey Dee has made a statement to fans about his recent health scare. He was hospitalized with sepsis, a blood infection, and received excellent care at the Sahlgrenska University Hospital in Gothenburg.
Dee revealed that he had started treatment for sepsis early December and experienced several operations before returning home. He shared his gratitude towards the doctors and nurses who provided him with top-notch care. The musician is now focused on recovery, rehab, and preparing for upcoming gigs.
In an interview with Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet, Dee explained how he contracted sepsis. He had sprained his foot early December and was taking medication to treat a mild fever and pain. However, he realized something wasn’t right before Christmas and sought medical attention.
The infection had caused significant damage, and Dee underwent three surgeries to remove the infected tissue. Although it’s a challenging road ahead, he expressed determination to return to performing with Scorpions.
