Cowboys’ Coaching Decision Looms as Season Winds Down

The Dallas Cowboys are nearing a decision on Mike McCarthy’s future, with the team set to conclude its season on Sunday. While most teams would address such matters quickly, the Cowboys tend to take their time, a trait that has become familiar in recent years.

In 2019, it took until January 5th for the team to announce Jason Garrett’s departure after the season ended on December 29th. A similar pattern is expected this time around.

If McCarthy were to leave Dallas, he might not sit idly by. Rumors suggest that Chicago Bears could be his next destination, given their need for experienced coaching and offense expertise.

With three NFL head coach openings – Chicago, New York Jets, and New Orleans Saints – the Bears seem like the most appealing option. McCarthy would bring valuable experience to Chicago’s roster. However, it remains unclear whether he’ll choose the Bears or return to the Cowboys. The outcome will have to wait, as the team takes its time making a decision.
