LeBron James has broken Michael Jordan’s record for 30-point games, reaching 563 points in his career. The Los Angeles Lakers star achieved the milestone during a game against the Atlanta Hawks on Friday night.
James surpassed Jordan’s mark of 1,072 games over 15 seasons, doing so in his own account of 22 seasons and 1,523 appearances. He reached the 30-point mark for the third time this season and the fifth time this year alone.
The record-breaking moment was met with praise from James’ teammates, including Anthony Davis, who called it an “accomplishment.” Lakers coach JJ Redick also commended James on his longevity, noting that his ability to score 30 points after turning 40 is a testament to his greatness and career length.
James has continued his impressive form, scoring at least 10 points in 1,253 consecutive games over the past 18 years. He now holds several additional records for durability and consistency. Despite Davis’ joking comment that it “bothered” him that James took seven more seasons to break the record, both players seemed grateful for James’ success.
The achievement marks a significant milestone in James’ illustrious career, further solidifying his status as one of the all-time greats in NBA history.
