Hisense has unveiled its latest laser TV, the L9Q, at CES 2025. The ultra-short throw projector features streaming TV onboard, a Dolby Atmos sound system, and Hisense’s proprietary TriChroma triple-laser light engine. This technology can exceed the BT.2020 color space and boasts 5,000 lumens of brightness, with a contrast ratio of 5,000:1.
The L9Q offers five screen sizes between 100 inches and 150 inches, making it an ideal choice for home theaters. The TV also features AutoScreen Alignment and Manual Keystone Correction to aid in installation. Other notable features include a 6.2.2 surround sound system, Google TV, eARC, HDMI 2.1, Wi-Fi 6E, and Nextgen TV (ATSC3.0).
When paired with the ultrabright 2.9-gain screen, the L9Q can achieve 1,500 nits of full-screen brightness – significantly higher than most high-gain screens. While this could potentially lead to eye strain or discomfort, experts hope that new technologies will minimize such issues.
As a nostalgic nod to his own past experience with rear-projection TVs, Hisense’s executive is likely to evoke memories of the first TVs they ever purchased. Although these new laser TVs work on different principles than their predecessors, the company’s latest offering promises an exceptional viewing experience.
However, pricing and availability for the L9Q have not been announced yet, suggesting that it will be a significant investment. The previous generation of this TV was priced at $5,500 at launch, setting a high benchmark for this new model.
