The US Department of Justice (DOJ) filed an application with the Supreme Court on December 31, 2024, seeking to put the brakes on the nationwide preliminary injunction that blocked the enforcement of the Corporate Transparency Act’s (CTA) reporting requirements. The DOJ argued that a strong presumption applies in favor of Congress’ acts remaining in effect pending final decision by the Court.
