AMD Unveils New AI-Powered Chips for Gaming and PCs

AMD has showcased its latest artificial intelligence (AI) chips at CES 2025, targeting the gaming and personal computer markets. The company’s new Ryzen AI Max, Ryzen AI 300, and Ryzen AI 200 processors aim to compete with Intel and Qualcomm in the growing AI PC space.

The Ryzen AI Max is designed for high-powered laptops used by gamers and content creators, featuring up to 128GB of unified memory and a neural processing unit (NPU) capable of 50 TOPS. This chip’s PRO series will offer enhanced security and enterprise management features.

In addition to the AI Max, AMD has released its Ryzen AI 300 and 200 processors, which also feature 50 TOPS of AI performance. These chips are suitable for AI PCs used by consumers and enterprise customers who don’t require high-end power.

For gamers, AMD has introduced new CPUs, including the Ryzen 9950X3D and Ryzen 9900X3D for desktops, and the Ryzen 9000HX Series for laptops. These chips offer improved temperature control, which can save battery life in gaming laptops. The company has also revealed its Ryzen Z2 Series gaming chips for handheld gaming systems.

These new AI-powered chips demonstrate AMD’s commitment to expanding its presence in the growing AI PC market and competing with rivals Intel and Qualcomm.
