CES 2025 is underway in Las Vegas, with major tech companies showcasing their latest innovations. Here are the top announcements from Day 1 of the conference.
Samsung is finally releasing its home robot, Ballie, which will be available in 2025. The ball-shaped robot can autonomously drive around your home to complete tasks and connect to your appliances.
Yukai Engineering introduced Mirumi, a fuzzy robot that mounts on a purse and recreates people’s joyful interactions with babies. The company also announced the Nekojita FuFu, a tiny robot cat that cools down hot beverages.
LG showcased its “Affectionate Intelligence” AI system, which can be personalized for users and homes. The system detects temperature controls and suggests whether to bring an umbrella. LG also announced a partnership with Microsoft across various offerings and expanded cloud gaming experience for Xbox.
AMD unveiled new chips, including the 9950X3D gaming-focused processor, which is 8% faster than its predecessor. AMD also launched refreshed processors for laptops, desktops, and gaming handhelds.
John Deere revealed an electric robot lawnmower designed for commercial landscaping. The mower can operate for up to 10 hours and see in 360 degrees. Toyota gave updates on its Woven City project, exploring rockets with Japanese spaceflight company Interstellar Technologies.
Finally, Samsung unveiled “Samsung Food” on Sunday, a feature on its 2025 TVs that uses AI to recognize food seen on the screen and generate recipes for it. The feature also recommends grocery and takeout deliveries through the Samsung Food mobile app.
