Comedian Nikki Glaser took a lighthearted jab at Hollywood stars who supported Vice President Kamala Harris’s presidential campaign during her monologue at the 81st Golden Globe awards in Los Angeles.
Glaser, 40, said she couldn’t roast the celebrities despite their notable backing for Harris, as they are “famous, talented, and powerful.” However, she added that even with such influence, Hollywood members could not endorse a candidate’s platform or tell Americans who to vote for. This remark was seen as a nod to the failed campaign.
Glaser also expressed her concerns about the country’s current state, saying she’s scared. In a humorous exchange with Ariana Grande, Glaser joked that “Ariana, hold my finger.” However, in a previous interview, Glaser stated that when she gets too angry while discussing politics, it affects her ability to deliver punchlines.
Glaser’s monologue aimed to poke fun at the Hollywood influence on Harris’s campaign without taking a strong stance.
