Gypsy Rose Blanchard, the reality TV star who was once a victim of Munchausen by proxy, has welcomed her first baby with boyfriend Ken Urker. The couple’s 3-month-old daughter, Aurora Raina Urker, was born in December 2024.
Blanchard, 33, shared an Instagram post on New Year’s Day showing herself cradling their newborn in a hospital bed, surrounded by Urker and the baby wearing a pink hat. When asked about her baby girl’s name, Blanchard revealed that it wasn’t entirely her choice, crediting Urker for coming up with the idea.
The name, Aurora Raina, has sparked speculation over its origins. Some believe it was inspired by Disney’s Sleeping Beauty, while others pointed to a dog named Aurora Grace. However, Blanchard explained that the name is actually inspired by the Northern Lights, also known as the Aurora Borealis, which she and Urker both have a fascination with.
Blanchard and Urker first shared that they’re expecting their first baby together in July 2024, after rekindling their romance. The couple had previously been separated, with Blanchard filing to divorce her estranged husband Ryan Anderson in April.
Since taking a paternity test and publicly confirming Urker as the father of her baby, Blanchard has expressed her excitement for having more family time together. With the new year underway, she is looking forward to celebrating being off parole and embarking on motherhood with Urker.
