NASA’s JWST Reveals Secrets of Mysterious Celestial Body Chiron

The James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) has shed new light on the enigmatic object 2060 Chiron, a centaur that blurs the boundaries between asteroids and comets. Located in the icy expanse beyond Jupiter and Neptune, Chiron’s unusual behavior and composition have puzzled scientists for decades.

Researchers have long been fascinated by Chiron’s periodic outbursts of gas and dust, its planetary-style rings, and its highly elliptical orbit.
