Honda has unveiled two new prototypes for its next-generation 0-series electric vehicles (EVs) at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025. The Honda 0 SUV and Saloon, both expected to enter production in late 2026, boast sleek designs and innovative features.
The 0 SUV takes inspiration from the 2024 Space Hub concept but adopts a trendier crossover shape. It boasts a black panel housing pixelated headlights, an illuminated Honda logo, and a chunky bumper with a vent for cooling the battery. The rear windshield is unusually thin, featuring a U-shaped taillight wrapped around it.
The 0 Saloon prototype looks remarkably similar to its 2024 concept car, with a futuristic cab-forward design and low-slung wedge shape. It features larger headlights with retracting covers, a blank panel replacing the front-end screen, and blocky D-pillars.
Both prototypes share similarities in their interiors, dominated by screens including digital gauges, touchscreens, and peripheral displays. They also feature cameras instead of side mirrors, although this may not make it to production.
Honda has revealed that its 0-series EVs will feature a steer-by-wire system, rear- and all-wheel-drive setups, and lithium-ion batteries targeting around 300 miles of EPA-rated range. The vehicles will be capable of Level 3 autonomous driving, allowing drivers to “eyes off” operation while the car handles driving duties.
Honda has also announced its next-generation vehicle operating system, ASIMO OS, which will integrate electronic control units for driver-assistance systems and infotainment. It will employ over-the-air updates and feature a high-performance system-on-chip (SoC) developed in partnership with Renesas.
Furthermore, Honda is establishing a charging network through its joint venture with seven other automakers, aiming to reach 30,000 charging stations by 2030. The EVs will feature the NACS-style charge port and automatically charge themselves when electricity costs are low or renewable energy is available.
