Google Introduces QR Code-Based File Sharing via Quick Share

Google has rolled out an exciting update to its Quick Share feature on Android devices, allowing users to share files faster and more conveniently than ever before. The new feature uses a QR code to enable file sharing between nearby devices.

The latest update brings version 24.49.33 of Google Play Services, and it’s available for all Android users worldwide. To use the new feature, simply tap on Quick Share in your phone’s share menu and select “Use QR code.” A full-screen interface will display a Quick Share-branded QR code, which can be scanned by nearby devices.

When the QR code is scanned, a link to initiate file sharing will appear on the recipient’s device. The new feature eliminates the need for manual device detection and contact verification, making it easy to share files with multiple users without hassle.

This update addresses one of the previous limitations of Quick Share – its inability to detect nearby devices. With QR code-based sharing, you can now share files quickly and easily without having to set up any additional settings or contacts. The new feature is a welcome addition to Google’s file-sharing capabilities, making it more convenient for users to share files on-the-go.
