The Human Rights Campaign Foundation (HRCF) has released its 2025 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), a benchmarking survey and report measuring company policies and practices related to LGBTQ+ workplace equality. A record 1,449 businesses were rated this year, including 72 new participants.
This marks a significant increase in the number of companies adopting inclusive practices and providing equitable benefits for all employees, particularly those who are LGBTQ+. The CEI found that:
– 765 companies earned a score of 100, indicating they meet rigorous standards for LGBTQ+ workplace equality.
– 1,051 companies have instituted gender transition guidelines with supportive policies and documentation guidance.
– Businesses that adopt inclusive practices tend to be more competitive, attracting top talent, and widening their consumer base.
HRC President Kelley Robinson emphasized the importance of business participation in promoting LGBTQ+ inclusion. “The work of the CEI is about making businesses stronger,” she said. “Companies continue to dedicate time and resources to reinforcing workplace inclusion, leading to a more inclusive and creative workforce.”
This year’s findings highlight the growing recognition among companies of the value and responsibility of upholding equity and inclusion. The HRC Foundation will continue to provide educational resources and support to help businesses expand their consumer base and attract innovative talent.
The CEI is now available online at www.hrc.org/cei, providing a convenient employer search tool for those interested in learning more about supporting LGBTQ+ employees.
