Capcom’s Monster Hunter Wilds has announced a second open beta period for its upcoming game, following a successful initial test in November 2024. The second beta will take place from February 7-10 and February 14-17, allowing players to experience the game ahead of its full release on February 28.
During the second beta, players can create their characters and companions, participate in hunts, and interact with other players. This period is expected to provide a similar content mix as the first open beta test, including the character creator, introductory story mission, Doshaguma hunt, and Rey Dau hunt. However, the new beta will introduce an additional monster to hunt: the Gypceros.
Players participating in the second beta can claim two unique rewards: the Open Beta Test Bonus Pendant and a consumable item pack containing various resources such as raw meat, traps, and armor spheres. These rewards are tied to creating character data during the second beta, which will be carried over into the full game.
It’s unclear how participation in the second beta will work, but it’s likely that players will need to download the free beta software from their preferred online storefronts once available. The new beta will be available on PC via Steam, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S platforms.
Not all proposed changes will be included in the second beta, according to Capcom. Players will have to wait for the full release to experience these updates. However, fans are eager to see how Monster Hunter Wilds has evolved since its initial announcement and look forward to testing it before its release.
