Shokz OpenFit 2 Earbuds Get Upgrade with Improved Design and Sound Quality

Shokz has unveiled its second-generation OpenFit 2 true-wireless earbuds, boasting a revamped design, enhanced sound quality, and improved battery life. Available now in black or beige for $180, the new buds feature upgraded drivers that deliver more bass and better overall clarity compared to their predecessors.

The OpenFit 2 retains Shokz’ signature air-conduction speaker technology but has made significant changes to its ear hook design, using an upgraded flexible nickel-titanium alloy that molds to the contour of your ears. The wearing curve has also been tweaked for a more ergonomic fit.

Battery life has been significantly boosted, with up to 11 hours of listening time on a single charge. A new physical control button provides an alternative to touch controls, while the Quick Charge feature delivers two hours of listening time from just 10 minutes of charging.

The OpenFit 2 uses Shokz’ proprietary DirectPitch 2.0 technology and OpenBass 2.0 algorithm to enhance sound quality. The earbuds boast a larger 21x11mm driver with two individual speakers, delivering improved bass and clarity compared to the original OpenFit buds.

Shokz also highlights its AI call-noise reduction feature and multipoint Bluetooth pairing capabilities. With four preset EQ modes and customizable options via the Shokz app, users can tailor their listening experience.

The OpenFit 2 is available now for $180, competing with other high-end earbuds in this price range. A full review will be published soon, including comparisons to Shokz’ OpenFit Air buds.
