WPP Cracks Down on Working From Home for Advertising Executives

WPP, the London-listed advertising giant, is requiring its staff to work in the office at least four days a week from April. The company believes that human connection, creativity, and relationships are essential to its success. According to CEO Mark Read, his team does their best work when they are together in person.

The move comes as other major employers, including JP Morgan and Goldman Sachs, also tighten their policies on remote work. Amazon has been requiring staff to return to the office five days a week since the start of this year. Tech giants like Google, Meta, and Apple have also clamped down on home working.

WPP’s decision affects 114,000 employees worldwide, who will now be expected to spend more time in the office. The company had previously allowed staff to work from home three days a week, but individual agencies within the group were free to set their own policies.
