Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle has shared a heartfelt goodbye to her beloved beagle Guy, who sadly passed away. The Duchess posted a video on Instagram showcasing memories of their time together, including how she adopted him in 2015 from a Canadian dog rescue.
Meghan remembered Guy as “the little guy” due to his small size and consequently named him after himself. The pup was by her side through various milestones, including the end of her lifestyle blog Tig, her TV series “Suits,” and her engagement and marriage to Prince Harry.
Despite facing a serious accident that left Guy with surgeries for months, Meghan shared that doctors initially said he would never walk again. However, Dr. Noel Fitzpatrick believed in his recovery, and Meghan and Prince Harry visited him regularly at home in Surrey.
Meghan wanted to share the news publicly as Guy will appear in her upcoming Netflix series “With Love, Meghan,” which starts streaming on January 15. The Duchess expressed her devastation and hope that fans would understand why she’s so heartbroken and possibly fall in love with Guy too. She ended her post by thanking Guy for his unconditional love and filling her life with joy.
