Actress Mandy Moore is standing up to critics who questioned whether she is financially supporting her in-laws after they lost their home in the devastating Los Angeles wildfires.
Moore’s brother-in-law, Griff, and sister-in-law, Kit, lost their home in the Eaton Fire. The “This Is Us” star shared that Griff and Kit are expecting their first baby soon and need support during this difficult time. Moore encouraged fans to donate and share to help them rebuild.
When some fans expressed concern about whether she was helping her family financially, Moore addressed the issue directly, stating that of course, she is helping her family. She also asked people not to question how much money they were donating, saying it’s “NOT helpful or empathetic.”
Moore shared a personal account of visiting her former neighborhood and witnessing the devastation firsthand. The actress expressed her love for the community and vowed to help rebuild and support those affected.
The Eaton Fire has claimed at least seven lives, with multiple fires burning over 27,000 acres in the Los Angeles area. Moore’s husband, musician Taylor Goldsmith, shared videos of their evacuation from their home in Altadena, where they lost many belongings and favorite spots.
