LA Hurst Fire Investigation Explores Possible Edison Role

A downed conductor has been discovered near the site where the Hurst Fire started in Los Angeles County, sparking an investigation into whether equipment from Southern California Edison was involved. The utility company said a broken power line was found at an electrical tower associated with the Eagle Rock Sylmar 220 kV circuit. However, Edison insists it doesn’t know if the damage occurred before or after the fire began. This is not the first time that equipment failure has been linked to a major wildfire in California.
