Four music legends have passed away less than two weeks into the new year, leaving the industry in shock. Soul singer Sam Moore, who was 89, died on January 10 due to complications from surgery. Folk singer Peter Yarrow of Peter, Paul and Mary, died at 86 after a battle with bladder cancer.

Wayne Osmond, a former member of the Osmond Brothers, also passed away at 73, reportedly due to a stroke. His death was announced by his daughter Amy Cook on Facebook.

Sam Moore was best known as one-half of the R&B group Sam & Dave, and together they had hits such as “Soul Man” and “Hold On, I’m Comin'”. The duo won a Grammy for Best R&B group performance in 1967 and were nominated for three more awards.

Brenton Wood, another soul singer who died recently, is also notable for his hit song “The Oogum Boogum Song”, which rose to No. 19 on the Billboard R&B charts in 1967.

All four musicians are being remembered by fans and fellow artists alike, with tributes pouring in on social media. Their legacy continues to influence music today.
