The Most Expensive Fast Food Burgers in the US

Fast food prices are rising, and some chains are getting a bad rap for it. A recent survey found that customers think several restaurants are “overpriced,” “expensive,” or a “rip-off.” To find out where you can get (or avoid) the country’s most expensive fast food burger, we scoured menus in the Los Angeles area and narrowed down the list to the top seven.

At number one is the Five Guys Cheeseburger. With a price tag of $12.89, it beats Shake Shack’s iconic menu item by just 49 cents. The classic cheeseburger features American-style cheese melted over fresh patties and sandwiched between a toasted sesame bun.

Coming in at second is Shake Shack’s Shackburger, priced at $7.99, followed closely by Burger King’s Whopper at $7.99. McDonald’s Quarter Pounder rounds out the top five with its hefty price tag of $7.49.

Wendy’s Dave’s Single comes in fourth, thanks to its $7.69 cost. Carl’s Jr.’s Single Big Carl takes fifth spot, priced similarly to the next most expensive burger at $6.99. Rounding out the list is Jack In The Box Jumbo Jack, the cheapest option on our list, but still a pricey choice at $6.61.

While my wallet might be crying, I’m suddenly craving a Five Guys cheeseburger. But with prices like these, it’s worth taking a closer look before ordering.
