Daughter Reveals Potential Abuse After Father’s Arrest for Prolonged Rape and Up-Skirt Filming

A French woman’s daughter has come forward, revealing possible abuse suffered during her own childhood after her father was arrested for drugging and raping his wife for 10 years. The case involved thousands of videos and photos of the victim being abused by her husband, Gisèle Pelicot, and 50 other men.

The daughter, Caroline Darian, claims to have seen images of herself being unconscious and abused, leading her to suspect she might also be a victim. “I lost what was a normal life,” Darian said in an interview with the BBC. She described feeling like it was “an earthquake. A tsunami.”

Pelicot was sentenced to 20 years in prison for his crimes, while 50 men involved were convicted. Darian is now working as an advocate, raising awareness about chemical submission and educating children about sexual abuse.

The victim, Gisèle Pelicot, continues to recover from her ordeal but struggles with the trauma of accepting the full extent of her husband’s actions. Darian’s case highlights the long-lasting impact of domestic abuse and the importance of support for victims.
