AGDQ Rallies $2.6 Million for Charities

Awesome Games Done Quick (AGDQ), an annual speedrunning charity event, has concluded its 2025 fundraiser with a remarkable £2.1m ($2.556,305) raised for the Prevent Cancer Foundation. The week-long event attracted over 2000 in-person attendees and “tens of thousands” of viewers on Twitch.

Speedrunners from around the world participated, often with creative challenges and incentives to drive donations. These included a live concert during Crazy Taxi, an opera performance after completing a Ratchet & Clank run, and unique performances like FunkopotamusWes playing New Super Mario Bros. Wii using his head and feet via motion controls while playing piano.

Since 2010, AGDQ has raised over $54 million (£44.2m) for various charities worldwide, including Doctors Without Borders, Malala Fund, Organization for Autism Research, and more. The event’s organizers announced the first all-Black speedrunning charity event, Back to Black, scheduled for February 6th-9th, which will benefit racial justice nonprofit Race Forward.

In a notable moment from last year’s AGDQ, Shiba Inu Peanut Butter became the first dog to speedrun a game during the event, completing Gyromite in 26 minutes and 24 seconds.
