The FBI may have been spotted in Ben Affleck’s neighborhood over the weekend of January 11-12 as part of an investigation into unauthorized drone activity related to the ongoing Los Angeles wildfires. The agency’s Ground Intercept task force was conducting surveillance in the area, and two agents were seen outside one of the actor’s residences.
However, it is unclear if the FBI was specifically at Ben Affleck’s home or simply conducting a general sweep of the neighborhood. A spokesperson for the FBI confirmed that the agents were searching for signs of unauthorized drone activity but did not provide further details.
The investigation comes after a private drone struck a Canadian firefighting plane, known as a Super Scooper, on January 9 while flying over the Palisades fire. The plane was grounded due to significant damage sustained from the collision.
As the wildfires continue to ravage the Los Angeles area, with 24 fatalities and over 12,300 structures destroyed, the investigation into unauthorized drone activity has taken center stage. Ben Affleck’s family, including ex-wife Jennifer Garner, has been deeply affected by the fires, with Garner sharing that she lost a friend who did not survive the blaze.
Garner, who lives in the Palisades area and owns several properties, has been helping to distribute meals to those affected by the fires through her involvement with chef José Andrés’ World Central Kitchen. The organization has been providing aid to the area since shortly after the fire began, adapting its services to meet the evolving needs of the community.
