A recent report from leaker NatetheHate suggests that Nintendo’s next console, the Switch 2, may be revealed this week. The information is two-fold, with a focus on the console itself set for January 16, followed by a separate reveal for software in late February or early March.
According to NatetheHate, the reveal will primarily focus on the console, with minimal discussion of games. However, it’s possible that a game might be shown running on screen during the trailer. Nintendo typically reveals hardware information close to launch, which could put the Switch 2 launch as early as June or July this summer.
The console’s form factor is expected to be similar to the current Switch, with some power upgrades, potentially reaching base PS4 levels in handheld mode and PS4 Pro levels when docked. However, the name of the console remains uncertain, with Nintendo unlikely to simply append a “2” to the existing model.
If this information is accurate, we can expect an official announcement from Nintendo regarding the reveal date soon. It’s worth noting that if there’s no update closer to the initial report, it may be incorrect and the actual reveal could happen at a later time.
