Author and fantasy novelist Neil Gaiman has been accused of multiple alleged sexual assaults by several women, including former babysitter Scarlett Pavlovich, caregiver Caroline Kendall, and writer Kendra Stout. The allegations surfaced on January 13 in a Vulture report, with Pavlovich detailing specific instances of abuse, including assault while babysitting for Gaiman’s family.
According to Pavlovich, she was asked by Gaiman to take a bath alone at his Waiheke Island home, where he allegedly joined her naked and assaulted her. The author also allegedly forced Pavlovich to endure anal sex using butter as a lubricant during one incident.
Gaiman’s accusers claim the abuse continued over several years, with Caroline Kendall recalling an instance where Gaiman placed her hand on his penis in front of his son. Meanwhile, Kendra Stout alleges that Gaiman raped her in 2007.
The author has denied all allegations since July 2023, stepping back from production of the third season of Prime Video’s Good Omens adaptation. However, multiple women have come forward with their stories, sparking a wider conversation about the allegations and the need for support for victims of sexual assault.
