A recent CES 2025 showcase of a Switch 2 mockup by accessory manufacturer Genki has sparked a reported legal confrontation with Nintendo. Despite this, Genki maintains that it has no formal relationship with Nintendo and its products are based on unofficial molds obtained from external sources.
Genki’s display at CES featured a physical mockup of the Nintendo Switch 2, which drew significant attention. However, reports surfaced that Nintendo’s lawyers had confronted Genki over its claims, citing potential copyright infringement.
In response to these allegations, Nintendo issued a statement saying the gaming hardware claimed by Genki is “unofficial and not provided to the company.” Genki has since clarified that its mockups were based on circulating leaks and reports, not direct knowledge of the Switch 2.
Despite this, fans remain eager for an official announcement from Nintendo regarding the Switch 2. Rumors suggest the console will support modern AAA games like The Witcher 4 and be launched with two major titles.
