“We didn’t involve ourselves in the right ways,” Tomlin said. “We didn’t strike the right chords at the right time.” However, he also viewed their loss as a form of “football justice” and did not see it as misfortune.
Tomlin confirmed that changes are coming within the Steelers organization but declined to provide specifics, citing ongoing postseason evaluations. He met with players, owner Art Rooney II, and general manager Omar Khan to discuss improvements for the team moving forward.
The quarterback room is also undergoing changes, with both Russell Wilson and Justin Fields on expiring contracts. Skylar Thompson has signed a contract, providing some stability at the position.
Tomlin’s strong response to trade rumors underscores his commitment to the Steelers and his determination to continue coaching the team.
