A Philadelphia Eagles fan, Ryan Caldwell, has been banned from future games after a viral video of him screaming insults at a female Green Bay Packers fan went online. The incident occurred during the NFL Wild Card round playoffs last Sunday.
Caldwell was identified by an NFL security guard and subsequently banned from attending Eagles games. His employer, BCT Partners, a New Jersey consulting firm, also released a statement saying they were letting him go due to his vile behavior.
BCT Partners’ founder Randal Pinkett described the fan’s language as “vile, disgusting, and unacceptable” and said it was contrary to the company’s values of inclusion, respect, and dignity. The company hopes Caldwell can move on from the incident but is troubled by the cancel culture that seems to not afford people grace.
The Eagles went on to win the game with a final score of 22-10 and will now play against the Los Angeles Rams in the Divisional Round of the playoffs this coming Sunday.
