Steam FPS game Fortune’s Run has been put on hold indefinitely due to its developer, ‘Dizzie,’ being sentenced to three years in prison. The game, which combines melee and gun combat and features a 92% positive rating, had accumulated updates and expansions since its September 2023 release.
In an update posted earlier this week, Dizzie revealed they are being sent to prison next month due to past actions. They acknowledged that their case is unrelated to the game’s other developer, who left the project after recovering from a “botched surgery.”
Despite financial stability thanks to the game’s sales, Dizzie expressed uncertainty about completing the game’s release. The developer stated that there is not much content left to work on and has been working on stubs and prototypes in their spare time.
Dizzie emphasized their passion for game development and desire to finish Fortune’s Run despite the setback. However, the prison sentence and ongoing legal process have put the game’s future in limbo, leaving its fans uncertain about when they can expect a completed version of the game.
