iOS 18 Calculator App Regains Missing Feature: Repeating Operations

Apple has reintroduced a feature that was removed from its calculator app in iOS 18 and macOS 15. The ability to repeat operations by pressing the equals key multiple times is now back in iOS/iPadOS 18.3 and macOS 15.3 betas, offering users a useful way to compute compounding interest or perform long series of repeating additions.

The feature was initially introduced on new iPhones and iPads with the release of iOS 18 last fall, bringing Math Notes and unit conversions to these devices. However, it was absent from the updated calculator app in subsequent releases. Many users expressed frustration over its removal.

In a positive turn, Apple has reenabled this feature in the latest betas, allowing users to press the equals key repeatedly to repeat the last operation. This update is expected to be included in the final release of iOS 18 and macOS 15 later this year, pending final testing.
