Capital One is responding to customers taking to social media to express frustration over an outage affecting its banking services. The issue was reported on January 16, with users experiencing problems with online services starting at around 4 a.m., according to tracking website Down Detector.

The financial institution acknowledged the outage in the morning and stated that it expects most issues to be resolved by tomorrow morning. A customer service team representative posted on X, saying “We are actively working with the vendor to resolve the issue and restore services, and apologize for the inconvenience.”

Capital One explained that a technical issue with a third-party vendor is causing problems with account services, deposits, and payment processing for some of its customers. The company has been providing updates in response to customer inquiries on X, including information about fees incurred during the incident.

As the situation continues to unfold, Capital One has assured affected customers that it will cover reasonable fees once its services are restored.
