NASA Tests Spacecraft Bus for Asteroid Exploration Mission

A team at the University of Arizona has been testing a spacecraft bus designed to help astronomers better analyze stellar features from transiting planets. The bus, which is currently being tested in a thermal-vacuum chamber, provides the necessary structure and systems for the mission.

According to NASA, the goal of this mission is to improve our understanding of exoplanets by separating their spectra from those of stars. This will enable scientists to study these planets more accurately.

The spacecraft bus has been developed by Blue Canyon Technologies in partnership with NASA. The testing process involves subjecting the bus to extreme conditions, including high temperatures and vacuum, to simulate the harsh environment that it will face during its intended mission.

Once complete, this technology will play a crucial role in future asteroid exploration missions.
