TV talk show host Wendy Williams has spoken out about her current situation in a rare interview with The Breakfast Club, where she described living under conservatorship as “living in prison”. Williams, who was placed under the guardianship of Susan Morrissey in 2022 after being diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia (FTD), claims she is not cognitively impaired but feels trapped.
Williams’ current living arrangement has been criticized by her niece Alex Finnie, who described it as a “luxury prison” due to its minimal amenities. Finnie stated that Williams receives basic necessities like food, shelter, and medical care, but lacks access to sunlight and freedom to interact with visitors.
The 53-year-old media personality expressed concern about missing important life events, such as her father’s upcoming birthday celebration. She broke down in tears during the interview, stating “my life is f—ed up”.
The situation has sparked controversy, with Morrissey claiming Williams is permanently disabled and legally incapacitated. However, Williams denies this assessment, saying she feels like a prisoner despite being able to make phone calls to friends and family.
