The pause only affects people using beta software, not those with the main operating systems. News apps like The New York Times now show a message indicating AI summaries are unavailable.
Apple says it’s working on improvements, which will be included in a future update. The company did not specify when this update would arrive or how long it would take to roll out to main users.
This latest move highlights Apple’s struggles with its AI technology, which has faced criticism from users and media outlets. In October, Apple launched the feature as part of its iPhone models’ signature feature. However, issues have persisted, including displaying false information in news notifications.
