NYC Mayoral Candidates’ Fundraising Totals Revealed

New York City Comptroller Brad Lander now has more campaign funds than Mayor Eric Adams ahead of the June primary. According to recent filings with the City’s Campaign Finance Board, Lander has $3.2 million in cash on hand.

Former Comptroller Scott Stringer is close behind, with $2.3 million. Meanwhile, two other candidates, Zohran Mamdani and Zellnor Myrie, are hoping to catch up after they receive public matching funds next month.

The board denied Adams matching funds for the second time due to “non-compliance” over his criminal indictment related to campaign finance issues. Despite this setback, Adams still has $3.1 million in cash on hand.

Other notable candidates include Assemblymember Zohran Mamdani, who raised more money from individual donors than any other candidate; and former hedge fund manager Whitney Tilson, who received contributions from prominent figures like Bill Ackman.

The city’s public matching funds program supplements donations with up to $8 per resident. Participating candidates can receive up to $7 million in public financing if they agree to limit their spending.
