Russian forces launched a drone attack on Ukraine’s capital city Kyiv early Saturday, leaving four people dead. The attack involved 39 Shahed drones, simulator drones, and four ballistic missiles.
Ukrainian air defense forces shot down 24 drones, with two more missiles intercepted over the Shevchenkivskyi district. The district also saw broken windows, smoke at a residential building’s entrance, and damage to a water supply pipeline.
Kyiv City Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported that firefighters battled blazes caused by water flooding the streets. The Lukyanivska metro station was shut down after its glass entrance was damaged.
Similar drone attacks were also reported in various regions across Ukraine, including Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Khmelnytskyi, Zhytomyr, Kirovohrad, Dnipropetrovsk, and Donetsk.
