Microsoft has increased the cost of its Office package, raising prices for consumers who subscribe to its AI-powered tools. The company’s Microsoft 365 family subscription, which allows up to six people to access Word, Excel, and other apps, will now cost $130 a year – a 30% increase from its current price.
The move comes after the company rolled out similar price hikes in Australia earlier this month, where the changes were met with controversy. The new prices for individual subscribers will be $100, representing a 43% rise from their previous rate.
All affected subscribers will see the price change take effect immediately, while existing customers who choose to renew will face the increased cost when they do so in the future.
